My Reading Log : #book1 The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Assalamualaikum and Hi

So I was thinking about my reading habit and wanted to make a list of books that I had read. I know I started it late, but I just got my conscience right now to actually jotted down my reading list her her her *slow clap*

Actually, I wanted to practice my writing and I got this blog so why not? I try to write some op-ed by using the apps called Grammarly. I think it's quite good unless you have to pay more if you need more service to correct your grammar for the fact that this is free apps! But this is good, it corrected some of my words in this passage 

I want to write a review about a simple storybook - The adventures of Tom Sawyer. This story was about a boy name Thomas Sawyer who lived with his Aunt Polly and cousin, Sidney. I believe it was called adventures because this little boy got so many things in his mind! His mischievous behavior made his aunt gone crazy and totally lost control of him but at the same time, Aunt Polly loves him so much for he was living alone without parents. 

The journey began a little late in chapter 6 when Tom met with Huckleberry Finn. It began when Huck coincidently bumped into Tom with a dead cat in his hand.

So Tom asked, What's a dead cat good for, Huck?

For curing warts

But how do you cure them?

Why, you take the cat about midnight to a graveyard, where somebody that was wicked has been buried. When it's midnight  a devil will come, or perhaps two or three. But you can't see them; you can only hear something like wind, or perhaps hear them talking. When they're taking that wicked fellow away, you throw your cat after them and say, 'Devil, follow body; cat, follow devil; warts, follow cat; I've finished with you.' That will cure any wart.

In the graveyard, there were some vague figures approached through the gloom, swinging an old-fashioned lamp. Both of them hid and keep still so that they will not get caught.  There were three of them, Potter, Redskin Joe and a young Dr. Robinson. To make it short, there was an argument when suddenly Potter stabbed Dr. Robinson. 


Okay, I will try to write without giving a single glance at the book. Wow, it was tough! Remember project NILAM back at school? Yeah, some of us (include me) were writing a synopsis based on the back of the book. We didn't actually think the summary ourself, though. So lazy bump didn't we?

And then the story goes with so many mischievous journeys of Tom. There was one girl that he crushed on, being a pirate with his friends until all villagers including Aunt Polly thought he's dead! lost in the cave and so much more fancy story (that I forgot already)

The conclusion is, although Tom was a naughty boy with the tricky mind, he was very kind and love his aunt so much. Oh oh btw, there was some part that Tom be a witness for Dr. Robinson murder case. Tom was very brave to justify everything to the court on what happened that night at the graveyard, and that is the great way to make himself clear.





P/s : I trying to read English book as much as I can, but I still have to finish read my malay books ahh
